1934 Alvis body repair

Corners of the bonnet are rubbed and rotted away and in need of replacement.
1.6mm Aluminium |

| New metal needs letting in. |
 |
| Cut out all damaged Aluminum. |
 |
| An oversized patch, scribe and cut out. |
 |
| Clamp in place using a Copper backing bar. |
 |
| Then tack into place. |
 |
| 90 Amps AC TIG |
 |
| Fully welded inside and out using 4043 1.6mm filler. |
 |
| Using simple hand tools the distortion in the panel is put straight and the weld is filed flush. |
 |
| Smoothed out nicely. |
 |
| Next scribe the cut line |
 |
| and trim the panel using snips. |
 |
| File to the cut line, round all corners off finally finish with abrasive paper on a small block. |
All done, ready for another 82 years!
